How can you contact the author (not just the Webmaster); what’s the email address?

 

Does the content seem accurate?  How can you tell; where else did/can you check?  Are the information sources listed (fully cited)?      

 

Does the site cover many aspects of the subject?  If there enough detail about your topic?  Do you need to do more research?                 

 

Does the site lead you to more information?  Is there a bibliography of print sources?  Are there links to other sites, and if so, are the links annotated and/or evaluated?  Are they current or inactive?  Print & attach any additional sources that were on this site.                              

 

What is the date of last update or the copyright date, if any?  Does the information seem current?  Does this matter for your purpose?  Why or why not?    

 

Is the site well written?  Is the information clear and understandable?  Are there typos and other errors; if so, what sorts of errors?             

 

Does the site contain unique information (images, sounds, text, etc.)?  How do you know; where else did you check?   

 

What’s the purpose of the site — to inform/teach, to persuade, to sell, or entertain?  How can you tell? 

 

What is the intended age/grade and expertise of the audience?  How can you tell?

 

Does the information seem objective?  How can you tell (are biases stated or hidden?)    

 

Is the site easy to use?  If not, what makes it confusing or difficult to navigate — no links between pages, fees/registration required, distractions (ads, images, or logos), etc.   

 

Looking at all of the data you have collected, decide whether this site is (or is not) valid for your purpose.
