The Dewey Decimal Classification System
Biographies, autobiographies and many memoirs are classified under B for individuals and BC for materials about more than one person. All titles classified as B and BC are shelved following the 900s. Fiction (novels and short stories) is classified under F and arranged either alphabetically by author or, in the case of collections by more than one author, by title.
